The majority of clients in our portfolio rely on us to determine their level of compliance, set a road map for them to follow and to keep them compliant.  Of course, this is not a one-way-street.  The client is as responsible for their compliance as the accounting and tax professional, but without proper guidance there is only so much you, as the business owner, can do.

We are registered tax practitioners which allows us to check in with SARS on your behalf, act on your behalf and clear any compliance issues you may have without you having to do any substantial running around.

Being registered and accredited also means that we need to adhere to stringent ethical standards which dictates how we bill our clients, what advice we give and how we conduct ourselves during consultations and financial statement preparation.

Here follows a brief description on how we operate when it comes to the major services we deliver:

Monthly Bookkeeping and Accounting

During our first consultation we will determine your level of tax compliance and outstanding work that needs to be completed.  We then determine the source documents needed to complete the necessary documents to get you tax compliant.  During the completion process we may set up minor meetings (either remotely, per telephone or in person) to discuss the outcome of the work done, possible restructuring of your record keeping and additional information that may be required to complete the process. 

VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL

Not every business is required to be registered for VAT.  We will determine the level of your business’ readiness and set the wheels in motion for the registrations that may be lacking in your business.  Keep in mind that if you employ someone, even if it is on a part-time basis, you HAVE to register for PAYE and UIF and you have to, by law, deduct the needed funds from their remuneration and pay it over to SARS.  There is little grey area to exploit there.  And we will show you how these processes can be implemented without it disrupting the way you have been trading.

Employment Contracts

We will work with you to draft an employment contract that will protect you and your employees.  We will determine the employee’s leave day accrual per annum, their sick leave accrual, job descriptions, disciplinary procedures, hours to be worked, method of compensation, etc. 

Payroll Services

Finding reliable payroll services in Cape Town can be extremely difficult.  Most businesses do not need anything as formal as SAGE to keep track of payroll data.  That is why we work with you to determine the most logical system to use to keep track of your payroll data to assist in your annual reconciliations and the issuing of IRP5 and IT3 certificates to employees.  We make the process easy to understand and by setting up repeatable processes that takes no time to run through every month we will minimize your pay-run costs.  We also work with you to structure your employees’ income in a way that makes it tax beneficial for them (where possible) while keeping you compliant with the South African Revenue Service’s prescriptions and laws.

Audit Preparations

Not all (PTY) LTD’s needs to be audited.  When no audit is required, we can prepare your annual financial statements and use those statements to submit your income tax returns.  We consult with you to determine if your company should be audited.   A  Public Interest Score will be determined and if you need to be audited, we will advise you appropriately and treat your records in a way consistent with records destined for audit.  We will supply your appointed auditor with everything they require to complete it successfully.  The quality of the figures will always be of great importance so that the auditors time spent on the audit can be minimized.  And if you do not have an auditor we can assist in having one appointed as we share working relationships with many professionals…people we trust to treat our clients in the same way we treat them.  With respect, excellent ethics and like business partners.
